March has rolled around again and that means that it’s time for graduation again! And of course with graduations come graduation parties and balls. Why not try this classic and elegant look that will get you ready for your graduation or graduation party? For this look we’re putting the emphasis on the lips and the eyes.
Apply your foundation for a flawless base. Don’t forget to conceal your under eyes to make you look more awake! If you want your makeup to last longer, you can apply an eyeshadow primer, but this step is optional.
With your flat shader brush, take a matte medium tan color and apply it as a base all over your eyelids. With a fluffy blending brush, apply a matte medium brown shade along your crease and outer V, making sure to blend it well.
We don’t want any harsh lines! With the same blending brush, take a matte darker brown and focus the color on your outer V to give your eye more depth. With the leftover product on your brush, blend into your crease to increase definition.
Using your flat shader brush, take a matte light cream shade and pat it over your eyelid to brighten the eyes up further. Then, with your blending brush, apply that cream color onto your brow bone as a highlight.
Watch out for fallout–sweep it away carefully if you get any like I did. With a flat shader brush, take a shimmer highlighter and apply it to the center of your lid. This will add even more dimension.
Using a flat definer brush, apply the darker brown shade onto the outer 2/3 of your lower eyelid. Then with a more precise brush, highlight your tear duct and inner corners with the shimmer highlight eyeshadow.
Afterwards, use your flat definer brush to highlight the inner 1/3 of your lower eyelid. Fill in your brows using your favorite brow product. You can make your brows as intense as you wish, but I like mine to be just right.
If your eyebrows are unruly, tame them with a brow gel or clear mascara. Line your eyes with your favorite eyeliner. Flick it upwards at the end to create a cat’s eye or winged eyeliner effect. Because we are focusing on eyes, I’m making my line thicker.
Tightline and line your waterline with a black eyeliner pencil. Curl your lashes and apply mascara generously! You can also apply some on your lower lashes to open up your eyes even further. And that’s it for the simple and classic eyes.
For the following steps, you can use different products–I just like to stick with what works for me. With your blending brush, take the medium matte brown and contour your nose if you wish. Then using the same brush, highlight the bridge of your nose with the matte cream eyeshadow.
Contour your cheeks with a powder that is at least 2-3 shades darker than your skin tone. You can also contour your forehead and along your temples. Highlight the center of your forehead, your chin and the top of your cheekbones with a powder that is 2-3 shades lighter than your skin.
Apply your blush! For this look, we’re using red lipstick to create a classic look that emphasizes the lips. To prep your lips, line and fill them with a red lip liner. This will prevent feathering and make your lipstick last longer.
Apply your lipstick! Careful not to get it on your teeth! Apply a lip gloss on the center of your lips only to make them appear fuller. And that is it! This look is easy but it definitely makes a statement.
If you want, you can use a different lipstick. Or, for a vintage look, you can curl your hair! Thank you for watching and I hope you liked this tutorial. Don’t forget to subscribe!
